A collaboration between electro-acoustic composer Felicia Atkinson, poet Christina Petrie, and DJ duo Time is Away, with a sweet, dizzy finale by Maxine Funke. As radio artists, Time is Away blur the line between curation & creation, and it’s the spirit of their beloved NTS program that animates this syncretic tribute to the textile artist Annie Albers. 

This is a record to make a quiet moment for. Don’t expect it to overpower you or clamor for your attention. Invite it in, make a cup of tea. Smile encouragingly across the table. Give it time. And listen. 

By the time you get to Maxine Funke’s closing contribution—a lovely, perfect, wantless song hung together with tentative piano, violin practice, negative space, and Scotch tape—you might have to wonder if you’ve ever heard such a beautiful thing.
