A new Blod record arrives as reliably and as welcomely as a new season. And, lately, he’s been stylistically consistent, raising his own gruff warble to lead a rotating chorus through shambolic singalongs of ragtag Swedish folk. But this one feels a bit special, a culmination of his recent work. After worrying the sleeves of this new style, he’s slipped into it like a well-worn sweater. It’s a wonderful record I’ll return to often, a subtle arrival.

A new Blod album recorded during spring 2025, featuring Gustaf Dicksson, Elin Engström, Julia Bjernelind, Magnus Jäverling, Erik Ridelius as well as Gustafs' two childen Myran and Alf. Acoustic songs taking inspiriation from Swedish folk music. In many ways the darkest Blod record yet while at the same time being weirdly uplifting, again creating a rather peculiar and unique mixture of sorrow and joy. Screenprinted foldover sleeves made at Longest Night, each cover with a photo glued to the front. Comes with lyric sheet. Edition of 300 copies. Mastered by Lasse Marhaug.
