A sui generis art pop album that found an unlikely home on the Lovely Music label in 1978 alongside highbrow classics by Robert Ashely, David Behrman, Jon Hassell, & Meredith Monk. The intersection of downtown smarts & melodic sincerity reminds me of Arthur Russell, though this is its own weird thing, kissed with Laurel Canyon pop, gymnasium funk, and earnest monologuing. So good.
