They’d drill down further into this sound before stretching it apart like taffy and then spinning it off into groggy, psychedelic fractals, but this couldn’t be any more perfect on its own terms: downtempo, downtrodden, but weirdly blissed—post-punk alienation with the comforting/depressing glow of a late-night laptop screen.
