Here’s something really special. Near the very beginning of 1980, John, Sheila, and five of their elementary school students took a field trip to a recording studio in the big city of Vancouver, BC to record some of John & Sheila’s original songs. The result is magical & totally disarming, with that special mix of precociousness, simplicity, sweetness, and melancholy that characterizes the best indie pop & folk music. 

The label name-checks Belle & Sebastian and claims this is better than the Langley Schools Music Project (it is). I’d add that any of these tracks would sound right at home on an Efficient Space comp or a DJ Sundae mixtape—which, by my lights, is about as good as it gets.
