The Parisian sub-indie pop scene is one of the most immediately satisfying and lingeringly mysterious points in the present constellation of the international underground. In some ways, these artists are mining the same territory that mainstream indie did 10 years back—revisiting ‘80s & ’90s guitar rock styles—but they’re digging up something stranger and harder to pin down. Chin-stroking aside, this is a killer EP, a seemingly effortless program of four ineffable anthems that do the trick by any metric.
