Amazing excavation from Music From Memory—an expanded edition of the lone release by inrain, the duo of Rudy Tambala of A.R. Kane and Alison Shaw of Cranes. First released as three-track 7” in 1991, this is a tantalizing one-off. Imagine Cocteau Twins starting work on a proto-trip-hop album and only getting four tunes in. It’s easy to wish there were more, but hard to complain about the undiluted perfection of what is.
