Another high-water mark from the prolific & subtly shape-shifting Will Yates as Memotone. The autumnal cover art sets the scene for a reverie of homemade chamber music & folkloric jazz. I think I hear a first nod towards Chicago on “Glimpse,” which would fit right in on a classic Tortoise record, while the closing art song “In Dreams,” with vocalist Eva May, is worthy of Eno’s Obscure label.
