On their way back from a concert, Feldman fell asleep in the car. “Out of a sound sleep, he awoke to say, ‘Now that things are so simple, there’s so much to do.’” Having achieved an astonishing new simplicity on 2024’s Spectral Evolution, Rafael Toral sets to work applying his shimmering new soundworld to a set of abstracted jazz standards.
