Two guitars, two voices, two people, and seemingly a single mind. One shirt, two sleeves. The duo of Tara Cunningham and Jack Cooper—both of Modern Nature—The Sleeves make intuitive, minimal songs out of bubbling interlocking guitar figures and hushed interlocking vocals. 

Nothing is obvious or expected and everything is soft. I can’t remember the last time I heard something that sounded so familiar and so unaccountable at the same time. Young Marble Giants locked in a guitar shop? Acetone gone drumless? Slowcore invented from first principles in a jazz conservatory practice room? 

That one mind could come up with something so original is wonderful. Now try two.
