Absolute alien transmission from early-’80s Japan—surely one of the most unaccountable sophomore efforts in recorded music. Following her shadowy debut, Anonym, "unassuming dental nurse" Junko Tange saw fit to invent dub techno before slipping off into the mist. Compared to later electronic music, there’s a striking lack of spatialization & reverb, an unremitting flatness that underlines techno’s industrial and post-punk roots. A must.
