Reportedly the work of "unassuming dental nurse" Junko Tange, the albums Tolerance released on Osaka’s legendary Vanity Records are two of the most bewildering one-offs of the post-punk era. While Divin is credited with presaging dub techno, I’m partial to her spindly, atonal debut, a hypnic wander through an old house haunted by a gramophonic ghost.
