The return of trabant! Their first retrospective compilation was my favorite record of 2024. This second collection has the same strange magic, if a bit more stylistic consistency. The orchestrated film music is less in evidence here, instead drilling down into their tipsy, late-night, Hugarian karaoke vibe, all wobbly guitar arpeggios, wheezing drums machines, tape-kissed keys, and smudged eyeliner. A bit more of a grower, this one, but I’m in love all over again.
