Brooklyn’s Stern Records goes 2-for-2 with this absolute winner from Grenoble’s Unchained. This feels like a decontextualized re-encounter with my dad’s Pat Metheney CDs—jazzy electric guitar, not not smooth and seriously good. Repeat plays reveal more aesthetic layers—misty tape hiss, that warm guitar tone bubbling like a radiator, an obsessive melodicism that makes the tunes both memorable & meditative. Recommended, really nice.
