Unaccountably whacked-out DIY post-punk synth business recorded by Yasuhito Ohno in early-‘80s NYC and self-released back home in Japan in 1984. Made entirely with a four-track, a Roland Juno-60, and Ohno’s unassuming voice, this is music as whimsical and utopian as it is grimy, urban, and unadorned. It has a very ‘80s-NYC blend of grit and futurism, but the transpacific cross currents with the likes of Japan’s Vanity Records make the whole thing woozily uncanny, a total UFO.
